Learn how to be a tandem captain: Metro Washington Association of Blind Athletes (MWABA) is hosting a tandem captain training session for their weekly Thursday night bike rides. This training will teach you all you need to know to be a captain (front seat biker). Clean up the Potomac riverbanks: The Alice Ferguson Foundation is celebrating 70 years of environmental work and invites you to help clean up the Potomac riverbanks, attend their open house, and bring a picnic to enjoy the scenic Mt. Vernon view. The open house will give attendees the opportunity to see the inside of their net-zero, solar, geothermal-powered Living Building and learn about the foundation’s STEM-focused environmental education program for kids. For the trash cleanup, bags and gloves will be provided. They will use the data from the trash cleanup to make the case for better environmental legislation. Learn more & RSVP here.
